Purchases
made
at
local
communities
expense
for
use
on
the
very
rare
occasions
they
are
needed
to
actually
fight
fires
continues
along
with
inflation.
When
not
needed,
full-
time
professional
firefighters
have
little
to
do
but
insist
on
following
EMS
personnel
to
emergency
calls"
in
case
they
are
needed."
Municipalities
pay
for
fuel
for
millions
of
dollars
of
equipment
that
are
almost
never
used
for
the
purpose
for
which
they
were
intended.
Modern
building
techniques
have
been
developed
that
virtually
eliminate
any
chance
of
a
structure
to
be
totally
consumed
by
fire
and
point
out
that
water
damage
is
far
more
common
then
significant
fire
damage
itself.
We
note
here
that
new
laws
could
require
Wi-Fi
smoke
detectors
to
be
placed
in
every
single
residential
and
business
structure
that
can
be
placed
on
a
network
and
monitored
by
fire
protection
companies
such
as
ADT
would
be
far
more
beneficial
than
paying
for
required
smoke
detectors
and
prohibitively
expensive
sprinkler
systems
that
are
unnecessary and defy logical reasoning and common sense.
In
many
communities
new
buses
are
purchased
to
accommodate
40
to
60
riders
when
in
fact
there
may
be
few
if
any
riders
throughout
any
given
day.
Logical
reasoning
and
common
sense
would
suggest
that"
one-size-fits-all"
is
a
philosophy
of
governance
that
has
been
discounted
a
very
long
time
ago.
The
cost
of
the
service
and
its
value
to
the
local
community
needs
to
be
addressed,
as
well
as
the
investment
and
salaries
to
support
a
model
of
transportation
that
has
been
rendered
archaic,
continue
to
live
on
at
great
expense.
New
buses
purchased
with
a
full
package
of
amenities
costing
hundreds
of
thousands
of
dollars
to
purchase
and
operate
needs
a
reality
check.
The
situation
needs
to
be
addressed
at
a
time
when
local
news
media
itself
has
become
irrelevant
and
superfluous
and
focuses
on
material
given
to
them
in
order
to
support
the
status
quo.
Change is absolutely mandatory.
